Licensed products

Cushion covers supplied by Better World Arts

Affordable and ethical. Licensing is a way for artists to expand their income stream and for customers to have access to more beautiful products at pocket friendly prices.

‘Licensed products’ is the terminology for manufactured products that are decorated with a reproduced design and the designer is paid a royalty fee.

Fair trade thongs – with designs licensed from Gabriel Maralngurra, Graham Badari and Isaiah Nagurrgurrba

The demand for affordably priced authentic, Indigenous hand-made products currently outstrips supply. It is simply not possible for Indigenous artists and craftspeople to make lots of items that will retail under $50-100. Hand-crafting takes time. Many visitors to the Top End are seeking beautiful items that are authentically provenanced and want to know the designer has been paid fairly – so we have scoured the country to find the best and most ethical on offer.
